D is for Disney

Today's D post is for one of my favorite words of all time: DISNEY.

Just the mention of Disney-anything brings me to my happy place and makes me remember not only frawesomesauce childhood memories, but also memories that have transitioned into my adult years.

I have always loved everything Disney and certain ones, like The Lion King, still bring tears to my eyes every time I watch it (Mufasa's death scene anyone? *sniffle*).

So in honor of D-day, I present to you my top 10 favorite Disney (and Disney-affiliated) movies of all time (it was SO hard to choose just 10 *le dramatic sigh*)...

The Little Mermaid

Tangled

Aladdin

Howl's Moving Castle

Cinderella

The Lion King

Ratatouille

Lilo and Stitch

Tarzan

Beauty and the Beast

What are your favorite Disney movies and why? *silly five-year-old grin*

  1. I love Disney movies. Aladdin and Little Mermaid are right up top there, but now I'm absolutely loving the new string of Disney classics coming out and Tangled was fantastic.

  2. I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING. I had a huge crush on Prince Eric. Also, that moment in the vines with Tarzan and Jane? So ridiculously romantic o_o

  5. @Cheree Oh Tangled was BRILLIANT! I just bought the BluRay and can't stop watching it! :D

@Lori OMG I KNOW. Prince Eric was so dreamy. ^.^ But I gotta say Flynn Rider gives him a run for his money! LOL I was trying to find a pic of Tarzan and Jane doing the hand thing, but Google failed me last night.

@Jeremy I totally agree! Howard Ashman (RIP) and Alan Menken are golden.

@Brea Oh I loved The Dark Crystal! Jim Henson was a genius. I used to watch all the Muppet movies and grew up watching Muppet Babies and Sesame Street. :D

  6. I actually bawled in the theater at that lantern part in Tangled! It's just sooo pretty! My kids looked at me like I was crazy :)

I was so taken with Aladdin when it first came out. I got the soundtrack (on tape) for Christmas, and I'd spend hours sitting on my bed, lip-synching to "A Whole New World" and pretending I was auditioning different crushes to play the part of Aladdin! Ha! Middle school memories!

  8. This is also a Disney household. I watched Bambi the other day with my daughter; it had been years since I'd last watched it. Devastated me all over again. :'(

  9. @Shannon If it were up to me, all households would be Disney households! LOL I just actually bought the Diamond Edition of Bambi not too long ago. I've yet to watch it again, but your comment just totally made me miss Thumper. :D

  10. It's funny, I have never been to Disney Land or World and will have lived a full life if that remains the case, but my whole family loved the movies. Hubs and I watched Ratatouille yesterday without the kids. :)

Love the Little Mermaid, and really enjoyed Tangled.

  13. @Corinne Oh those two are my top two right now. I'm so in love with Tangled, it's ridic. LOL

@Callie Howl's is actually a Studio Ghibli film, from the legendary Miyazaki. <3 It's a Japan-based company that's partnered up with Disney to produce a slew of awesome animated films. :D

@Sylvia Those are good choices! I loved Sleeping Beauty, too, but *sigh* I could only pick my top 10, otherwise the post would never end! Bahahaha! #disneyholic
